Dikranouhi Kendirjian
(March 14, 1940 – June 14, 2016)
Dikranouhi Kendirjian, known by most as “Digin Dikranouhi”, went back home to her Father on June 14, 2016. She was born and raised in Baghdad, Iraq, and moved to Greece in 1977. In 1979, she immigrated to Toronto, Canada to start a new life with her husband, Souren. In the early 80s she started teaching in ARS Day School and quickly gained popularity because of her warm nature. This was her calling, as she remained in the profession for over 20 years and doted on all her students. She loved them as her own kids, which she never had and she made sure to keep in touch with as many of them as she could. She devoted her life to the Armenian community and church. She was a member of the ARS (H.O.M.), Roubina Chapter. She also voluntarily taught Armenian lessons for four years, through one of St. Mary church’s initiatives. Until the very last moments of her life here, she was an active and passionate member of the community. Her legacy lives on forever and the memories we have of our dear Digin Dikranouhi will never fade. May God rest her soul.
