Papken KarkarPapken Karkar 1961 – 2008

“I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live, And whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die”. John 11:25,26″

Papken Karkar was born on March 4, 1961.  He was the youngest sibling of 5 children.  He grew up and spent his childhood in Lattakia, Syria.  He was a Homenetmen member at a young age.  Papken was also a very active ARF member and was a dedicated and hard working volunteer who always upheld the party’s high standards and values.  He was an individual who always thought about how he could help the Armenian community and put the community’s needs before his own.  He was a loving and caring father and husband, a wonderful brother and a sincere and honest friend.
In 1991, he moved to the United Arab Emirates.  He was an honest and pure hearted individual who was always caring and thinking about ways of how he could help others.  He loved his family and instilled a set of values in each of his children that will remain with them and help them as they grow up to be young adults.
Even in the days during his illness, Papken was a very courageous person.  He eventually lost his battle with cancer and “crossed over”, to our Lord whom he always adored, on May 23, 2008.

He is now watching over his children Aram, Haig and Sarig and letting them know that he is close by and is always ready to provide them with the strength and guidance they need.
